I’m an artist and a designer who lives and works in Tel Aviv. I graduated from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem in 1999. Since 2003, I’m designing bags under the name mishi. Like all good things, mishi design came by an accident. As a stage and costume designer, I wished to combine fantasy with practicality; playing with materials, shapes and colors has paved the way to mishi design. I’m inspired by nature, people, architecture, art and the Tel Aviv temperament. My refreshing designs form a unified art fashion collection. They are inspired by contemporary features, and are characterized by comfortable shapes, clean cuts, solid colors and a combination of high quality materials. Each new form and concept is developed into a series of bags, with extra thought given to functionality and to the contemporary lifestyle.

The word mishi in Hebrew means the female form of “someone”. In this case, a very special someone! The typical mishi customer is an open-minded woman, with a high awareness for fashion and design and her own definitive style. Like the designs she chooses, she too is ageless.

mishi believes that if one must carry things, one better try to make it interesting.

Yours,
Meirav Ohayon.
